Anonymous asked: Is there a term for when somebody's stuck between cisgender and transgender? Like someone who enjoys the idea of being female, but wouldn't exactly get an operation to make that happen, yet at the same time, they have on-and-off feelings towards being a male? I guess what I'm saying is, I just want to be me and whatever that implies. Is there a word for that?

Choosing a Name - Some Tips
A lot of trans* people have a hard time deciding which name to go by. It’s usually one of the first steps a trans* person takes to socially transition yet it’s still pretty difficult to choose a name that suits you, that you like, and that you will continue liking at you get older. Here are some tips if you’re struggling to find a name for yourself.
Tip #1: Ask your parents If...
Anonymous asked: it's so sad that people think they need to conform to social ideals just because of their gender identity. "just be you" are words to live by! I identify as male but I'm never gonna change the fact that I've got mostly female-identifying friends, I use makeup when I feel like it, I wear skirts and dresses and whatever, and I'm not okay with being called...
hey-its-cj asked: To the anon asking if it was okay to shave as an FTM, I know plenty of cis guys who shave, so go for it. :)
Anonymous asked: Transguy, but I was wondering if it was still okay for me to keep some "female" habits like shaving my underarms and legs...I wear t-shirts and jeans all the time, so it's more of a personal preference.
Anonymous asked: I'm 16, and going to a new semester highschool where I'll be staying in the guy's dorm in stealth for the first few days... I'm pre-T and pre-op... first off, how should I bring up being trans to my roomates after they get to know me, and also, how many hours is it safe to bind a day? I've bound 14 hours a day previously for 2 weeks straight but this is for 4 months......

iamthephonebook asked: I have a couple questions that I'd like advice on, if you don't mind. I'm a ftm who has mild breathing difficulty in general, and I've noticed that it gets a bit harder while wearing my binder. I don't bind for long periods of time due to this, but I was wondering if there was any way to help this? I can't afford a new one in a larger size. Also, it's a bit long...

Anonymous asked: I'm a 16-year-old transguy, and I somehow manage to pass 100% of the time, even though I'm not on T and haven't had surgery. I'm basically pre-transition and debating my next steps. At this point in my life, I have no plans for hormones or surgery due to a variety of reasons. What I'm wondering is this—if I do choose to transition without hormones, will I still be...

Anonymous asked: Hey, I'm an FTM about to go into senior year of high school. I've barely started my transition, and don't even have a binder yet. I want my teachers to call me by my new name, but I'm afraid that they could possibly email one of my parents, referring to me with that name. I haven't come out to my parents just yet, since they don't approve of even crossdressing beyond...

Anonymous asked: A 17 FTM here. I am sort of fluid, but mostly identify as a guy. Thinking about all that it takes to make a full transition, I don't want to take testosterone or get top surgery. Those things don't really appeal to me right now. But I feel like if I don't do them later on as I get older and can do it on my own that I won't pass. Is it still possible to pass without those things...

scrapparchment asked: For the person with the job interview: Jobs for trans* kids are tricky. If you live in or are applying in an area which is accepting then by all means tell them about your name and gender identity. Also, if you don't go by your legal status outside of work then they shouldn't either. If you're planning to transition while working there you should tell them about your gender identity...
scrapparchment asked: For the anon going back to school and looking at how to wash a binder: Things that are made to wash bras help, but always hand wash and hang dry, NEVER use a dryer. Soaps meant for your "delicates" will do; I use a soap meant for bras from a specialty bra store I use to shop at.
Anonymous asked: Hi. I'm 15 ftm and I need help with my binder. I don't wear it often but when I go back to school in September I want to wear it full time. My first question is how do I wash it? It smells chemically ever since I bought it but I'm afraid washing it will damage it or stop it binding. Also, if I do wear it at school this means wearing it for nearly nine hours everyday. Could this pose...
grayeyes-brightskies asked: I have a job interview next week and I gave them my birth name for legal reasons. I'm only 15, so I can't change it yet. When I go in should I ask to be addressed as Malakai and that they use male pronouns or continue on with my legal name?

Gender Dysphoria and Sex
Gender Dysphoria and Sex
Just because you are trans* doesn’t mean you can not have a positive sex life or positive sex experiences. Many trans* people have great sex lives. Of coarse sex can often spark feelings of gender dysphoria. It’s okay to not be comfortable with sex whether it’s because of dysphoria, your age, or any other reason, that’s alright. If you do want to...
